Companion Animal Groomer/Pet Stylist – Part to Full Time

The Job

A Companion Animal Groomer is primarily responsible for compassionately and competently bathing, brushing, dematting, clipping and trimming coats of all breeds of dogs and cats as well as trimming nails and cleaning ears as necessary. This position is responsible for being a primary client contact regarding grooming and the checking in and checking out of grooming animals, the scheduling of grooming pets and educating and addressing client concerns and questions. The Companion Animal Groomer will have sufficient knowledge on nutrition and health to be able to advise on different foods and supplies. Significant time is required for interfacing with the public, the customer support team and pet care associates. The successful candidate will have the ability to cultivate a positive rapport with clients and their pets so as to establish a long term client-groomer relationship. Maintenance and cleaning of work area and equipment is required.

There is currently a part to full time position. Shifts are flexible and may vary depending upon the number and type of pets scheduled.

Job Requirements

•           Commitment to quality and compassionate pet care

•           Ability to work safely with a variety of animal species and temperaments

•           Minimum 3 years professional grooming experience

•           Great interpersonal and communication skills

•           Computer literacy

•           Motivated self-starter that is accountable and dependable

•           Ability to lift 60 pounds and meet other physical requirements of job

•           Ability to work with limited supervision

Education Requirements

High School Diploma, further advanced education a plus
